84 King Street is back after a re-schedule from monday to thursday, now on peak hour time 11pm. Every 4th thursday of the month.
FRANK MAUREL is one of the most respected and popular artist in his native country. Either as a Dj, producer , remixer or co-owner of Lajja Recordings, his active role in the Portuguese dance scene is one of the most significant and important.
His dj career started with a 5 years residency at Club Europa where he played alongside heavyweight djs such as Dj Vibe... On his way to national recognition, Frank won at the age of 18 the DMC's portuguese Dj contest and then turned resident Dj of the legendary Club ROCKS, once known as the reference of national Dance Club scene . This experience had him playing with the biggest djs such as Danny Tenaglia, Laurent Garnier, Deep Dish, Josh Wink, Dj Vibe, Underworld, Dj Sneak, Green Velvet ... To name just a few.
Between his radio ( Nova Era) and club residency ( Rocks), Frank had the chance to play at one of the biggest dance music festival: Zurich Street Parade (1997). But then he took the next step and boosted his dj profile all over the country. His creativity and mixing skills confirmed the buzz on his name and established him as one of the most talented and demanded artist.
But Frank needed more and started producing his own music. In 2000 he released with his old friend Paulo Rocha ( a.k.a Paul Jays) "GOTTA MAN" on Kaos Records: instantly supported by the biggest artists such as Angel Moraes, Eddie Amador, Bob Sinclar, etc... His production career took off. He then consolidated his reputation in Uk dance scene with his release "HOUSE NEGRO" on Uk label Shaboom Records. Following by "I keep Shining" as Maurel & Fauvrelle project with his long time friend Carlos Fauvrelle on Kaos Records. International recognition was reached and also confirmed when Tom Stephan asked Maurel & Fauvrelle to remix his highly acclaimed hit " IRRESISTIBLE" on Loaded/Skint Uk. USA couldn't resist any longer when Rob di Stefano signed the 4Toaster's project ( Frank Maurel, Carlos Fauvrelle, BBB & GMT) " REAL WORLD" on Twisted Records. The theme immediatley reached 4 America's BILLBOARD "Break Out Chart"! That was enough for Erick Morillo's Subliminal/Sondos label to sign him for a 3 records deal: "TURN IT UP" ( Uk Dj Mag hype charted!) , "THIS IS MY PLACE" and "MUSIC STAR", licensed in many compilations worldwide. His discography expanded even more as Maurel & Fauvrelle project with releases and remixes on labels such as Subliminal/Sondos, Distraekt, Tao, Inversus or Harlem Recs and also with the birth of the label LAJJA RECORDINGS.
All this hard work has been rewarded and gave him the opportunity to play in many clubs worldwide such as Pacha New York, Space Miami, Dek23 Miami, Case club Brazil, Heaven Club Brazil, Womb Tokyo, Exit Club & Gravity in Lithuania, etc.....
Currently Frank is releasing his Double CD compilation, his new track "LET YOURSELF FLOW" w Machado Jr on Lajja, The PT Mafia remix of John Creamer and Stephane K's " I WISH YOU WERE HERE" on Session Trax or even his remix of "PUSHING BEATS" (Peter Bailey & CarlosFauvrelle) on Stereo yet played by Victor Calderone or Tom Stephan ( a.k.a Superchumbo) during the last Winter Music Conference... There is no way back, only one fast forward continuity!
